The initial surveys of Vetustus in the 2080's revealed an semi-arid world whose surface had large seas but no oceans. The first

surveys discovered a startling secret; ancient ruins from an alien civilization. These ruins seemed to suggest a more

advanced species than Terrans lived on this world, yet these ruins did not reveal details of what the inhabitants looked

like. Based on the architectural analysis of the ruins, the implication of a humanoid form seemed a good guess at their shape.

The species showed a capability for interstellar travel based on some of the barely-intact records found. The language poses

considerable effort to interpret to this day, most of what is believed about the Vetustans is based on educated guesses and

circumstantial reasoning. There are a growing number of  xenoarcheologists  that believe the Vetustans are not native to this world

and have migrated to some other part of the galaxy. No reason for the demise or the exodus of the civilization from this planet has yet

to be found and Vetustus still retains it's mysteries.
