Bruma was a colder world than Earth with large polar caps and extensive arctic areas. Surveyed in the 2080's,Bruma was a fairly
hospitable world for colonization. The equators had the warmest temperatures with an average of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, global
average temp. is 50 degrees Fahrenheit, 10 degrees cooler than Earth's average temp. A large part of Bruma's ecology was adapted
for survival in harsh arctic climates. Mostly smaller, fur-covered animals inhabited this world , along with rugged plants that can
endure the cold. A large, furry rodent-like animal, about 3-5 foot tall when standing, was discovered in the early surveys of Bruma
that had tool-using capabilities. Scientists speculate that this species could have developed a civilization if Tau Ceti didn't have such
an extensive asteroid population, as there was numerous areas on the surface of Bruma that bore the evidence of asteroid strikes in
the fairly recent past. They became known as the Capybarans and were actually able to learn our language a few years after the first
colonists had settled there. Many Capybarans found their way onto other settlements because of their jovial, good nature and helpful
attitude. The Capybarans live close to the polar regions generally away from human settlements, but so far the contact between our
two species has been a positive experience, generally when the Capybarans desire contact.
